Architectural Yarns are simultaneously both design experiment and technical development. Loose fiber materials are bound into yarns on an architectural scale. As flexible, linear building elements, they can be further processed into spatial elements. Depending on the type of material and the geometry of the yarn, different stabilities are created along and within the structures.
The research work is currently exhibited at the DAOULA | sheen Exhibition at Tieranatomisches Theater Berlin from November 18, 2022, to April 29, 2023
DAOULA — SHEEN is a project of the Cluster of Excellence »Matters of Activity. Image Space Material« at the Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, funded by the DFG. Curated by Dr. Laurence Douny, Dr. Karin Krauthausen, and Felix Sattler with a film installation by Thabo Thindi.
