PLATZANGST

The German term Platzangst conveys both agoraphobia and claustrophobia, a dual fear of open and confined spaces. This concept takes shape in an installation of three inflated foil volumes, unfolding in a captivating choreography of light and expansion. As the foils stretch to their fullest capacity, a new dimension emerges—the tension of imminent rupture from internal pressure -- Platzangst.

Yet, instead of bursting, the forms transform into popcorn-like structures, swelling gradually and boldly claiming more and more space. Visitors, uncertain when this growth will cease, navigate their way toward a portal, eventually rediscovering the golden void within.
